Vana Tallinn Trophy 2007

Vana Tallinn Trophy 2007

This year, I managed to convince another Singaporean to go to the Vana Tallinn Trophy. KaiEr and I left Singapore on the same day, though on different airlines. We had arranged with Loon as well to get into Tallinn on a Wednesday - we were sharing a room at the Reval Inn. We were thinking we could get some practise in meanwhile, especially since Loon and I were talking about skating pairs, even after not having seen each other for over a year!

To my dismay, I later found that there wouldn't be ice until Friday! Oh great! Wonderful! We were going to put together a pairs program in one day! With just two 25-min practise sessions! On top of me trying to work my program in a full-size rink!

Somehow we managed to bicker our way through a program, and actually put together something semi-decent! Decent enough that I wasn't embarrassed to put it on YouTube:

However, my freestyle wasn't as great... It started off well, with a nice Axel-loop-toe loop combination, but right after that, I missed both doubles - singled the first double toe, and popped the double Sal! Later, I even fell on the second Axel... ARGH!! By now, I am sufficiently over it that I think I decided to finally put it up on YouTube:

After the compeition, we had the Medieval Dinner at Olde Hansa. Though I don't eat any of the meat, I always find the non-meat dishes hearty and tasty. The bread is awesome too, as is the honey beer!
