Siem Reap City
Strung Siem Reap
The market was bustling. The outer shops (those nearer the roads) had household goods and tourist souvenirs. Deeper inside was a wet market selling vegetables and meat. There is also a little alcove full of clothes stalls.
Scene from the market
Just outside the market was a row of small local restaurants. We had lunch at one of these, Songtheay Restaurant. Turned out, it was only slightly less costly than the fashionable restaurants on Club Street. However, I believe that it would have cost much less if, instead of ordering from the menu, we had gotten the ready-made meals that were displayed in glass cases at the front of the restaurant.
