Trip to Beijing, 25-27 Apr 2007

After an amazingly wonderful experience at the Korea Dream Program in February 2007, the organisers invited us to go to Beijing for 3 days, from April 25 to 27. This was for a press meeting on April 26, which explained the Dream Program to the international media, and introduced some participants of the Dream Program as well as top Korean athletes like speed skaters Chun Lee-Kyung and Ahn Hyun-Soo.

The Dream Program participants consisted of myself, Sarah Paw and Anja Chong from Singapore, and Mr Kokouvi Dorkenoo and Michele Dorkenoo from Togo. On stage, each of us gave a short introduction about ourselves and the Dream Program. Later, the press also interviewed Sarah, Anja, and Michelle.

At the same press conference, pairs skaters Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo were also appointed honorary ambassadors for the PyeongChang2014 Olympic Bid Committee in a special ceremony.

We were seated at the same table as Gangwon Province Governor Kim Jin-Sun, Chairman of PyeongChang Bid Committee Han Seung-Soo, and newly-appointed honorary ambassadors Shen and Zhao.

Even though we were in a foreign city, the PyeongChang 2014 Olympic Bid Committee made thorough arrangements for our stay there. We even had events planned for after the press conference - we climbed the Great Wall, visited Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.

It is truly an honor to be invited, and we are glad to be able to help PyeongChang in its 2014 Olympics bid. I sincerely hope they will succeed.
